The new variety of the ultra-early navel
An Australian navelina that colours (4 weeks before), and ripens early (3 weeks before) and is of an excellent quality.
m7 is a new variety of the ultra-early navel orange that has perfect characteristics in terms of its long harvest period that goes on for 4 months, its totally round shape, its high quality and its exquisite taste.
M7 was discovered in 2004 on the farm owned by Chislett Developments Pty Ltd, Kenley, Victoria, (Australia). After a few years of tests and evaluations, the Variety was granted protection from the Community Plant Variety Office pursuant to its decision No EU 35894 dated the 29th of July, 2013.
It was also registered at the Spanish registry office of commercial plant varieties (RVV C-20070370) and protected plant varieties (RVP-20074757). CHISLETT, as the plant breeder of this Variety, has granted a license for the exclusive marketing rights of M7 in Spain to GCM CITRUS, S.L.
The variety is managed by the non-profit making association Navel m7 with the help and the cooperation of the Compañía de Variedades Vegetales Protegidas AIE (CVVP).
These are its exceptional characteristics:

It is colored 4 weeks before Navel Orange (7.5 clon), with a high uniformity.

Internal maturity 3-4 weeks before Navel Orange.

In a completely rounded shape.

Extensive collection period, which stretches for 4 months.

A very vigorous tree, with different foliage.

It doesn’t content creasing, being more firm than Navel Orange with an undersized navel.

m7 is a protected plant variety that is authenticated by CVVP
The ultra-early m7 navel orange is the result of a type of farming that promotes development, quality and a job well done. Its outer navel is smaller than the Navelina, and it has small distinctive marks.
The tree itself is vigorous and it has a vertical open growth, which means that it receives more light. It grows quickly and bears fruit early on.
